Pipestone Civil War Days 2008Pipestone Civil War Days , Pipestone, MN, August 16-17, 2008
Two day celebration featuring both infantry and artillery maneuvers, an authentic reenactment of a Civil War battle, and numerous demonstrations and presentations of historic life.
Presentations by members of the Living History Society of MinnesotaThe MinneHaHa Players will present a play entitled "The History of Minnesota in Five Acts with Prologue and Interlude"
A mock period wedding will occur.
A narrator will provide a brief talk about the history of dance development of the nineteenth century, as well as information about the social customs and etiquette that ruled mid-nineteenth century ballrooms. Costumed interpreters will then perform a series of popular dances of the nineteenth century. The event will conclude with the costumed interpreters instructing willing participants in the basic steps of popular dances of the period.
